Nobel Prize – Economics
In the world of science and higher thinking, no award can compare to the Nobel Prize. Awarded each year in December, the selected individual or individuals are announced during the 2nd week of October. The award for economics is not a Noble Prize but recognition of work in economic sciences and is referred to as “The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel”. It was created and funded by the central bank of Sweden. The Prize follows the same process as the Nobel Awards and is a part of the Nobel ceremonies in December. This particular award started back in 1968 and only 45 have been issued to date to 74 individuals. The 49th will be announced this week.
